'I got pushed out of the trip I planned': Friend refuses to pay extra $1,000 for larger rental car, group retaliates by kicking out of vacation plan

There is a price to being the person who plans everything in your friend group. Everyone begins to expect that you'll handle everything to their potentially conflicting personal interests. Then, when you present everyone in the group with a plan they could have never executed on their own, you almost never get the proper credit you deserve. In fact, sometimes, the most entitled friends might just undo all the work you did with requests that had not been presented at the start of the whole planning process. 

If you're the type of person who gives off the "I will take the lead on the whole group project" energy, we strongly suggest that you refrain from taking everything on yourself. It might be within your nature, but you will only end up getting frustrated by other people's incompetence. You might even frustrate your friends if they feel you are acting in your own self-interest by taking the lead. In short, it's a lose-lose situation.
